Josephine "Jo" Wilson is an intern at Seattle Grace Hospital.
Personal life
At two weeks old, Josephine Wilson was left by her mother at a fire station. Jo was shuffled among numerous foster homes until the age of 16, when she began living independently out of her car. Her teacher, Ms. Schmitt, would let her in the building to wash her clothes before school. Jo worked furiously to get through school, evidently making it on her own through college and medical school. Wilson confessed to Alex Karev that Schmitt was the only person that supported her by saying, "[at graduation], I had one person: Ms. Schmitt."
Career
Dr. Wilson was selected by Meredith Grey as the most promising intern and was thus by tradition, awarded the first solo surgery.
Alex Karev, Wilson's Attending, frequently calls her "princess" and seems to have taken an interest in her.
