Three weeks after the disastrous events of April and Matthew's wedding, the doctors deal with the personal and professional ramifications of what transpired. April's choice is revealed but her happily ever after soon turns sour when the reality of the situation dawns leading to professional complications for her, Jackson and a devastated Stephanie while the residents try to band behind their publically humiliated friend. Elsewhere, a confrontation between Callie and Arizona sparks a dramatic change in their relationship as they decide whether or not they have a future together while Meredith feels dejected when Derek goes back on his promise to her after recieving a call from the president. Owen and Richard come to blows as they deal with the ramifications of Shane's emotional breakdown in the O.R on his first day back to work while Alex and Jo try to maintain their relationship as Jimmy's health deteriorates. Meanwhile, Bailey and Ben finally talk about the issues in their marriage as he makes a bold career decision.
